Terms of Service.

These terms cover this website, your member account, and participation in the Active Builders community, including the private Discord server. Membership and sponsorship payments are processed by Creem, our merchant of record, and Discord has its own terms; both also apply to you.

Membership is offered to individuals who agree to these terms and our community guidelines. You create an account on this site and pay a one-time fee of $49 USD for lifetime access to the members area and the private Discord. Lifetime means the lifetime of Active Builders as a service. Your membership is personal: keep your account to yourself and don't share perk codes or Discord access with non-members. We may decline or revoke membership at our discretion, particularly for rule violations.

Refunds are handled case by case. If something goes wrong, email us; we are reasonable people.

Gold Sponsorship is $200 USD per month, billed through Creem and recurring until you cancel. We take a limited number of sponsors at a time. A sponsor's logo, link, and description may remain on the Sponsors page after a sponsorship ends. Sponsors' own products and offers are governed by their terms; we do not warrant them.

Don't be hostile. Don't spam the community. Don't post illegal content. Don't share private member content outside the community. Don't bulk-collect member data from the directory, and don't use it to send unsolicited marketing. We can remove content and members who violate these expectations.

You choose whether to appear in the public member listing, and the setting is off until you turn it on. While it is on, your name and photo are published on a public page that search engines can index. Turn it off and you are removed straight away.

Your profile has to be yours: use a photo you have the right to use, don't impersonate anyone, and don't use the bio as ad space. Bios carry no links by design, and the website field takes one address. We may remove or unlist a profile that breaks this, and we may unlist profiles when a membership ends.

You own the content you post, including your profile. Content you share in Discord or on X is also governed by those platforms. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display it within the community, and, for a profile you have chosen to list, on the public member listing. We may quote anonymized excerpts in marketing materials unless you ask us not to.

You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing support@activebuilders.dev. We will delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy. Closing your account ends your access to the members area and the private Discord, and a one-time membership fee is not refunded on request alone (see Refunds above).

If we revoke a membership for a rule violation, the account and its profile are unlisted and access ends. We will still honour a deletion request afterwards.

The website and the community are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the site or the private Discord will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any perk, discount, or sponsor offer will stay available.

Active Builders is a peer community, not professional advice. What members share is their own opinion, and acting on it is your decision. We are not responsible for member-to-member interactions, or for the third-party platforms and products we rely on.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for all claims connected to the website, your membership, or the community is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or $100 USD.

We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost business or opportunities, or for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, even if we were told that loss was possible.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

We may update these terms. Continued use of the website or community after a change indicates acceptance of the new terms. The date at the top reflects the latest version.
